Keep Britain Tidy has announced that the English Riviera has the cleanest beaches in England after it received more Blue Flag awards for water quality than anywhere else.
TORBAY has scooped a record-breaking 16 awards for its beaches, landing the title as the clean beach capital of England.
For the first time this summer six Blue Flags will fly at Oddicombe, Meadfoot, Preston, Paignton, Broadsands and Breakwater.
And 10 beaches have also secured Quality Coast Awards for being clean and safe — Maidencombe, Oddicombe, Meadfoot, Preston, Broadsands, Ansteys Cove, Torre Abbey, Paignton, Goodrington and Brixham Breakwater.
